The UEFA Europa League is the second-tier European club football competition. Every year some of the best teams on the continent go head-to-head with all roads leading to Dublin for the final in 2024.

This season Liverpool find themselves playing in the Europa League for the first time since they were beaten in the final by Sevilla back in 2016.

The Reds endured a disappointing campaign by their standards last year, however a strong end to the season means they will be playing in Europe again this year as they look to rebuild under legendary manager Jürgen Klopp.

Their opponents Royale Union Saint-Gilloise are one of the most historic teams in Belgium. They finished third last season in the Belgian Pro League and bring take a lot of confidence into this year’s campaign having made the quarter finals of the Europa League back in April.
