A Look Back on Salon Privé London 2024

Published on Wednesday 24 April 2024 Category: Culture

Last week Royal Hospital Chelsea welcomed over 18,000 visitors to its grounds for three fantastic days of luxury car heaven at Salon Privé London. What an incredible three days they were!

Let’s take a look back at some of the best bits!

VIP Opening Day

The sun shone down on the grounds of Royal Hospital Chelsea for VIP Opening Day. The day celebrated 50 years of the 911 Turbo, kicking things off in style presenting a spectacular parade of various models from over the years, also displaying the latest ultra-powerful model.

The Concours de Vente returned for it’s third year at Salon Privé, parading an array of classic cars around the grounds, with the owners hoping to be crowned the best. The contest at Salon Privé is unique and unlike the traditional Concours as all cars showcased are available for purchase, which added another element of excitement.

We took a front row seat and enjoyed seeing the vast variation of manufacturers and models driving through; hearing from the owners themselves. There were some truly remarkable cars on show.

Ladies’ Day by Boodles – Friday

Friday’s Ladies’ Day by Boodles certainly did not disappoint! Known for its elegance and abundance of endlessly chic outfits, we saw so many incredible looks gracing the grounds of Royal Hospital Chelsea ready for the Boodles ‘Best Hat Competition’. The winner was awarded a stunning piece of Boodles jewellery.

Friday celebrated the iconic McLaren marque, with a morning McLaren cavalcade and lawn display. This was followed by a world-record gathering of Aston Martin Valkyrie, consisting of a collection of 14 vehicles which paraded the event. The collection was overseen by Red Bull Racing designer Adrian Newey who inspired the Valkyrie, making it all the more breath-taking.

After exploring the lawns and stands some more, we then spent the evening in The Sloane enjoying music, dancing and a range of stunning drinks crafted by London Essence, a lovely way to end a fantastic day.

Supercar Saturday

The event finished on a high with Supercar Saturday. Saturday offered a more relaxed family atmosphere showcasing the world’s most acclaimed cars. The main event was the phenomenal exhibit of the finest high-performance supercars lined up across the lawns.

The afternoon saw the eagerly awaited Concours de Vente awards presentation, where six different awards were up for grabs.

Concours de Vente winners:

Class 1:  1972 BMW E9 3.0 CSL – The Octane Collection

Class 2:  1983 Lamborghini Countach 5000S – Furlonger Specialist Cars

Class 3: 1930 Bentley Speed Six – Vintage Bentley

Prix d’Honneur Winner: 1930 Bentley Speed Six – Vintage Bentley

The Sloane

Our hospitality venue, The Sloane, was open and lively throughout the day allowing guests in and out to top up their Pommery champagne, grab another stunning cocktail from London Essence and relax and socialise in the relaxed club-like atmosphere.

With a three course luncheon on both Thursday and Friday, followed by afternoon tea, guests were able to taste an array of delectable delights from the chefs and hospitality staff at the event.

Each day didn’t finish there, guests filled the floor for evening entertainment, a live DJ and more lovely drinks!

The Grounds

Hosted in the grounds of Royal Hospital Chelsea, we were provided with an incredible display of cars, alongside stands from some of the biggest dealers such as Porsche, Aston Martin and Bugatti all showcasing their latest models

Taking a leisurely walk through the luxury village we explored an array of top brands including Gatineau, Renauld Sunglasses and Vanity Studios alongside artists and studios like Anna-Louise Felstead and Zenithart. It was lovely to have a browse, break up the day and change things up, and hard not to come away with some of the delights on offer!

Salon Privé will move to the Oxfordshire countryside in August, hosting the event at the stunning Blenheim Palace.
